This necklace is an antique Art Deco "French Jet" black glass flapper sautoir tassel necklace, dating from the 1920s to 1930s.  This is a classic sautoir or flapper-style opera necklace. Because it is long enough to slip easily over the head, it was purposefully designed without a clasp. High-quality faceted black glass beads during the 1920s was produced in Czechoslovakia (Czech glass) and France.  The layout features alternating geometric structures—including elongated drop beads, faceted round beads, and a focal bead that holds a beautifully flowing, multi-strand seed bead tassel.

This is a gorgeous piece to add to your collection and would pair with a smaller gold or silver necklace as a stack.
